Jamie Butterworth Blog: Autumnal Delights From London Stone And The Malvern Autumn Show
The Stunning Malvern Hills - the perfect backdrop for a Flower Show
September has to be my favourite month of the year. The start of Autumn, signalling not only the arrival of a new education year, but also the beginning of the new gardening calendar. Tree lifting, and planting begins in earnest, grasses and late summer colour steps to the forefront, and gardens change into their autumn attire. This, alongside trade shows, awards ceremonies and the occasional bonfire makes autumn a season to embrace and enjoy.
Set in the iconic Malvern Hills, the Malvern Autumn Show epitomises all of this with splendour. A true autumnal extravaganza that boasts not only the very best nurseries, growers and horticultural talent, but also, a fanciful array of food, giant vegetables and livestock. What’s not to love?
London Stone are delighted to be working once more with the Three Counties team, in organising a cross-industry event that promises to inspire and captivate. Designed for anyone whom may be considering creating a show garden in 2019, but also students, garden designers, landscapers and horticulturists in need of some horticultural inspiration. The ideal opportunity to network, share expertise, and learn.
Green Living Spaces at the 2018 Malvern Spring Show - a harmonious array of perennial planting
Our line up of speakers includes some of the great and good of horticulture, with all aspects of show gardens and horticulture being discussed. From show organisers to designers, landscapers to suppliers, gardeners to broadcasters. We hope that we’ve covered all aspects of show gardens, and will help talk you through step by step how to apply and what to expect.
In addition to talks, seminars and delicious food, we are also privileged to host this event the day before the 2018 Malvern Autumn Show opens to the general public. Attendees will be given an exclusive preview of the show, in particular the RHS’s centrepiece Floral Marquee. The perfect chance to see, meet and talk to some of the UK’s leading nurseries, along with their show stopping displays.
London Stone and Three Counties Development Day in April 2018 - a huge success
As if this wasn’t enough, we will also be launching the 2019 Green Living Spaces category for the RHS Malvern Spring Festival 2019. The ideal opportunity for anyone looking to design their very first show garden. Moving into its second year, and after the success of its launch in May 2018, we are looking for new and upcoming designers looking for a challenge to demonstrate their design skills at one of the country’s biggest, and most prestigious flower shows.
Cericidiphyllum japonicum - a sure fire sign of Autumn's arrival
The best bit; the entire event is free! Along with the Three Counties team, we want to encourage the sharing of skills, stories and charisma that makes horticulture one of the greatest industries to work in. Industry associations will be on-hand to give advice on memberships and help for the year ahead.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided, all you have to do is turn up!
We really hope to see you there. Tickets are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis, so book now to avoid disappointment.
