Futurescape, at Sandown Park, turned out to be even more of a whirl of activity than last year. At one point, people were almost queueing to get onto the stand. It's just a shame we were too busy to take a photo! Much as we like to think it was our magnetic charm that drew everyone in, we did have quite a few new things to show.

Our bar at the far end proved very popular, providing some welcome rest and refreshment.

“Are you selling iPads now?” was a not-infrequent joke as visitors spied the six we had set up on the central display.  It did look a bit like it, but how else could we promote our Trade Club and show off our newest website initiative? We've recently created a 'Colour Variation' section to help you show your clients the range of colours, tones and characteristics they can expect to see in their natural stone. You can see these new images on the Harvest Sawn Sandstone page under the 'Colour Variation' heading and we will be adding the feature to all our product pages very shortly.

On the other side of the stand, our skilled estimator Piotr Przytula became something of a star as he gave demonstration after demonstration of our laser templating equipment. Piotr showed visitors to the stand how he is able to use the laser to take accurate measurements of complex shapes. He can then transfer this information directly to his desktop, where he can add any necessary overhangs, before uploading the information to our CNC machine where the stone is cut exactly to the measurements provided. Piotr made it look so easy, and it was a great way to draw attention to our laser templating service, which removes the headache of marking out a complex plot and ensures your bespoke items fit perfectly.

With our new brochure soon to be published, we gave a sneak preview of the latest paving products which will extend some of our most popular ranges. Completely new on the stand this year were also a range of smooth pebbles and aggregates. We know being able to order different materials from one supplier makes your life easier, and we've introduced a range that's just a little different to complement your paving choices.

Finally, we had so much interest in our Stone Centre Open Days that we've put on a couple of extra dates before Christmas:

Tuesday 15th December, 11 am  FULLY BOOKED

Thursday 17th December, 3.45 pm.

If you'd like to come along, please email craig@londonstone.co.uk as soon as you can to avoid disappointment. And if you were at Futurescape and managed to make it to our stand, thank you for visiting. It was great to see so many familiar faces and to meet so many new people. Being able to welcome everyone to a large space and offer refreshments from our bar was something we really loved doing and, as Steven Walley, Managing Director, says, “We've already made plans for a bigger and better stand next year!”
