London Stone Goes Up the Wall at Futurescape - read about the 2018 show, and our new products on show
As always, for us at London Stone, it’s all about people, and Futurescape this week was no different. And this year we had something rather different from Natural Stone and Porcelain on the stand. Don’t worry, they were there too!
London Stone at Futurescape 2018 - always a busy and bustling day
On the stand, making its first appearance with us was Vistagreen, the artificial green walling. It makes part of a stunning indoor water feature wall at our new showroom in Farnham and its obvious plus points made it a no-brainer that we should introduce it to our range.
Many of you already use it and know that, designed as it was by a garden designer with 25 years’ experience, it looks extraordinarily realistic, feels lovely, can be used indoors or outdoors, and offers a Colour Box system that allows you to create bespoke designs tailored specifically to your client’s requirements.
We haven’t fallen out of love with living walls, though; you can view our Scotscape installation at our North London Showroom and it looks as lush as ever, but Vistagreen offers possibilities for completely different clients, budgets, and applications.

Available from 2019, we have introduced DesignBoard Cladding. Available in the full range of colours (including the new Charcoal) it takes DesignBoard to the vertical. Slipping boards easily between runners allows you to create screens, fencing and cladding to match your DesignBoard Decking.

This year’s show was also a special one for Customer Experience Director Chris Durnford, as we finally gave in to his request to show one of his favourite products; our Stainless Steel Slot Drain.
Exclusive to us, it blends discreetly into modern exteriors and is a positive adornment to bi-fold doors. And - Chris is right - we’re actually very proud of it. Its prominent position on one of the display tables in all its naked glory might have been a little unusual but it drew plenty of attention and comment (and should also keep Chris quiet until next year!).
DesignBoard Cladding - how will you use this exciting new product?
Alongside our full range of Natural Stone, Porcelain and DesignClad, were the Edge Profile options available on Porcelain step treads and copings. Since their launch, the 40mm bullnose and 40mm downstand have proved particularly popular by adding heft to a design. Our off-the-shelf Grey and Britannia Buff Yorkstones garnered a few caresses as people passed them too; they’re really as good as it gets for anyone who wants this beautiful stone and wants it fast.
Vistagreen artificial green walls can be customised to suit your design and style
As Futurescape grows (and now that it’s well established it’s noticeable how busy it is among the stands, even when the seminars are in full swing), drawing visitors from all over the UK, as well as Europe, it’s super to welcome so many new faces, and a real treat to meet so many of you whom we normally only speak to over the phone or by email.
Thank you to everyone who visited our stand. If you need any help, you know you can talk to us any time. Just give us a ring, drop us an email or click Live Chat at the top of this page.
