Take a look at one landscaper's impressive scheme featuring our modern metal pergola and learn how they created a contemporary garden for their customer.
The Brief
The customer engaged Signature Landscapes Design and Build to remove the existing paving and create a more up-to-date space. Paul Bate, founder and designer of the company, opted for porcelain for its low-maintenance qualities and its ability to create a bright space.
Wanting to make the most out of the space was an important factor. So, an old, disused summer house was removed and replaced with our Dark Grey Metal Pergola to allow the owners to enjoy more time outside, whatever the weather.
The Products
This scheme featured several of our products. All modern materials, they combine to create an impressive and, overall, contemporary design. As well as the modern metal pergola, the scheme uses our Vintage Steel DesignClad around the water feature; DesignClad is the ideal choice for water features due to its low porosity. Our Faro Porcelain Paving features throughout, with matching bullnose copings, steps, and stepping stones. Two egg chairs provide the place to relax in the beauty of the garden.
Working With Products
We asked Paul to tell us what it was like to work with the various products. "The pergola is great quality, and it's a doddle to put up," he says, adding, "It only needed two of my staff to put it together." Thanks to instructions that are clear and simple to follow, installation took less than a day and the customer was very pleased with the end result. In fact, they stated that they anticipated that the area of the garden they'd use most would be the part with the pergola. Paul's pleased too. "I'll certainly be using the pergola again on future projects," he says.
Paul also found both the DesignClad and porcelain beautiful to work with, making the whole scheme simple to install.
The Biggest Challenge
As with all builds, it didn't go completely smoothly but the worst that happened was a few breakages and wastage of products which required replacing. In true London Stone form, we came immediately to the rescue and sent replacements within a couple of days, so that the project was not halted or delayed.
The End Result
When the project began, Paul used CAD drawings to help his clients picture how the project would look once completed. Paul, the team, and the customer were all extremely pleased with the finish and the quality of the product. Check our Instagram feed to see how the porcelain, DesignClad and pergola all work together. Paul was particularly impressed with the way Faro porcelain brightens the garden and makes the space look so much bigger. He has since instructed another project in the same tile and has used the DesignClad again too. "And the service from you was spot-on," he added, "with nothing too much trouble."
Thanks, Paul, we aim to please! At London Stone we all love hearing glowing feedback on both our products and service. Most of all, we enjoy seeing such impressive completed projects!
