An advantage of clay pavers over larger paving slabs is that clay bricks give you greater versatility when it comes to choosing your laying pattern. Popular laying patterns for brick pavers include the running (or ‘stretcher’) bond, which mirrors the traditional ‘brick’ laying pattern we see so commonly in buildings, and a classical herringbone pattern, adding a touch of timeless elegance to your design.

Artisan clay pavers can be laid on their edge, as well as with their widest face showing. This allows you to create more intricate patterns, and break larger spaces up by using courses of ‘on edge’ pavers, against courses showing the wider face.

Top tip: As standard, we work out our metre squared quantities using the brick’s widest face, so if laying on edge, you will need to order around double the material you would, were you laying the pavers with their widest face showing.
