Learn more about why your garden needs a modern metal pergola.

Premium Quality Construction

Offering peace of mind on your garden investment, each pergola in our Deluxe Collection is crafted from high-grade 6005T5 aluminium alloy, renowned for its exceptional strength, durability and resistance to rust. Its coating of PVDF (PolyVinyliDene Flouride) is UV-, fade- and weather-resistant, ensuring your pergola maintains its pristine appearance, whatever the elements throw at it. Coloured an elegant Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016), this robust coating also adds modern sophistication, making our pergolas a stunning addition to any outdoor setting.

The design of our pergolas emphasises both aesthetics and functionality. The chunky-look 150mm wide vertical posts and 200mm thick horizontal beams provide a solid frame, while the 200mm roof louvres offer precise control over sunlight and shade. These louvres can be adjusted to just over 90o from their closed position, allowing you to create the perfect atmosphere, whether you’re seeking full shade or a light breeze and allowing sunlight into your space.

Innovative Features for Ultimate Comfort

Our Deluxe Pergolas are equipped with a range of innovative features designed to enhance your outdoor living experience. The Somfy control system, included with each pergola, allows you to effortlessly manage multiple features from a single remote or via a mobile app. You can control the adjustable louvres, LED lighting, optional shade blinds and heaters all at the touch of a button, ensuring your comfort at all times.

One of the standout features of our pergolas is the ‘constant’ lighting system. Unlike other models that only offer lights installed within the louvred roof, our system ensures consistent illumination throughout the pergola, creating a warm and inviting ambiance for evening gatherings.

Safety is a top priority in our design. The electric blinds feature a ‘crash protection’ system, which senses obstructions and stops movement to prevent damage. Additionally, the pergola’s inbuilt drainage system is meticulously engineered, ensuring efficient water management and preventing any pooling, even during heavy rain.

How to Incorporate a Metal Pergola into Your Garden

Whether you favour reading the weekend papers over coffee and pastries, or partying the night away with friends, metal pergolas can help you to transform your garden into a year-round outdoor living area: a true extension of your home. Here’s how to style a grey pergola into your garden, to suit your lifestyle, and make the most from your investment.

Position your pergola to suit your needs: installing a pergola flush to the back of your house will result in an immediate home extension (without the huge associated costs or requirements to seek lengthy and complex planning permission), ready for use at your leisure. For those looking for a more secluded retreat, position your pergola away from your property, and install it with up to four shade blinds, offering a relaxed, private escape.

Pergolas are designed to offer you the perfect spot for outdoor living, whether entertaining friends and family, dining al fresco, watching the big game during summer sporting tournaments, or enjoying a glass of something cold as the sun sets.

The key advantage of a metal pergola, of course, is convenience. Say goodbye to having to pack away garden furniture and outdoor cushions. A metal pergola is a year-round investment into outdoor living – stylish heating options and inbuilt LED lighting mean that our Deluxe pergolas can, not only make spring and summer outdoor living a reality, but also extend your garden into a cosy haven in the autumn and winter months. Made from quality, robust materials, and with optional shade blinds that will also help repel rain, your metal pergola will be protected from the elements and will be ready to use at the touch of a button.

Warranty and Installation

Offering you peace of mind with your investment, we stand behind the quality of our Deluxe Pergola Collection with a comprehensive warranty package. Each pergola comes with a 10-year structural warranty; the Somfy control system and blinds are covered by a 5-year warranty; and the electronic components also come with extensive coverage.

It is important to note that our pergolas must be installed by competent professionals. The installation requires precision to ensure the structure’s integrity and functionality. Additionally, the pergola must be commissioned by a qualified electrician, and the unit must be earthed for safety reasons. The warranty does not cover any defects caused by extreme weather conditions, such as hurricanes, or inappropriate use.

With each pergola sold, we provide an extensive, comprehensive installation guide in both printed and digital formats, to ensure both ease of installation and subsequent use.

Here are some installation hints and tips, so you know what to expect during the installation process:

  • Standard installation takes around 2 days for 2 installers. For optional extras like shade blinds and heaters, expect for the install to take longer. The pergola must be commissioned by an electrician before use.
  • Ensure that the pergola is installed completely level, as the inbuilt drainage system has appropriate falls already embedded.
  • Installing the pergola using Pergola Base Levelling Plates is highly recommended as they enable you to easily adjust the posts to ensure that they are level.
  • We recommend installing the pergola with a 100mm build-up measurement from the grounding pads/plates, to where the top of your paving sits, for the most attractive finish.

Deluxe Pergolas – FAQs

What materials are used in the construction of the Deluxe Pergolas?

Our Deluxe Pergolas are constructed from 6005T5 aluminium alloy, known for its strength and durability. The frames and louvres are rust- and UV-resistant, and the robust PVDF (PolyVinyliDene Flouride) coating is UV- and weather-resistant, making its Anthracite Grey (RAL 7016) finish fade-resistant and adding a sleek, modern look. Accessories are made from 304 stainless steel and brass H58, ensuring long-lasting performance.

Can the Deluxe Pergola be customised?

Yes, our Deluxe Pergolas offer a range of customisation options. You can choose from optional remote-controlled features like shade blinds, and heaters. We also offer bespoke options to tailor the pergola to your specific needs and preferences.

How do the roof louvres operate?

The roof louvres are controlled remotely and can be adjusted to open to just over 90o from their closed position. This allows you to fully control the amount of sunlight or shade in your outdoor space. The louvres are designed with a fall for drainage, ensuring water flows efficiently during rain.

How do I work out which blinds to buy?

The electrical supply for the blinds can be housed in Posts B or D, only. Refer to the diagram in the product gallery, or ‘Locating the Pergola’ section on p.5 in the Installation Guide, using the ‘front’ side of your pergola as a reference point. The position of your chosen blinds dictates whether you need a ‘Left Hand’ or ‘Right Hand’ blind. The product name ‘Left Hand’ and ‘Right Hand’ refer to where the blind’s supply is housed, not where the blind is positioned within the pergola itself.

In the example given within the Installation Guide, should you wish to purchase blinds for Beams A & B, you would need to order a ‘Left Hand’ blind, as the power supply would be connected at Post D (on the left-hand side of the front of the pergola, as if you were facing the front. Blinds for Beams C & D would need to be ‘Right Hand’ in this example.

What is the Somfy control system?

The Somfy control system is an advanced remote-control system that allows you to manage multiple features of your pergola from a single device. You can control the louvres, LED lighting, optional shade blinds, and heaters at the touch of a remote-controlled button, by using a mobile app, or by using the fully integrated NINA remote control system, to control other elements of your home.

Is professional installation required?

Due to the nature of the construction process, we strongly recommend that professional installation is used for all Deluxe Pergolas. The pergola must be installed level to ensure the inbuilt drainage system functions correctly. Additionally, the unit must be commissioned by a qualified electrician and earthed for safety reasons. Improper installation may void the warranty.

What warranties are included with the Deluxe Pergolas?

Each Deluxe Pergola comes with a 10-year structural warranty, a 5-year warranty on the Somfy control system, and a 5-year warranty on the blinds. The transformer and electronic components are covered for 12 months. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship but does not cover damage caused by extreme weather or improper use.

Can I control the pergola remotely if I am not at home?

No, the control system and app need to be on the same network as the pergola, meaning you cannot access it remotely if you are abroad or away from the network. However, the system offers robust control options while you are within range, ensuring easy management of all features.

How does the inbuilt drainage system work?

The inbuilt drainage system is designed to channel water through the louvres, across the beams, and down to a singular drainage point at the bottom of Post C. It is crucial that the pergola is installed level for the drainage system to function properly. This system helps prevent water pooling and keeps your outdoor area dry and comfortable.

Are the pergolas suitable for all weather conditions?

Our Deluxe Pergolas are designed to withstand typical UK weather conditions, including rain and strong sunlight, thanks to their rust- and UV-resistant materials. However, they are not designed to withstand extreme weather events such as hurricanes. The warranty does not cover damage caused by such events.

Can the lighting and heaters be controlled together?

Yes, the Somfy control system allows you to programme multiple features, such as lighting and heaters, on the same channel, should you wish. This means you can conveniently manage the environment of your outdoor space with just one control.

Can I view the Deluxe Pergolas in person, before buying?

We currently have Deluxe Metal Pergolas installed at our Bristol, Hampshire, Manchester, and Surrey showrooms, so we encourage customers to visit us and experience the pergolas prior to purchasing. We are in the process of installing Deluxe Pergolas at our other showrooms.
