Dark Porcelain Paving for Modern Gardens
Find plenty of choice in size and colour among our dark outdoor tiles. Across our ranges, you'll find the XL slabs of Sidewalk, cloudy hues of 900x600 Florence Storm and the dark smokiness of Charcoal, which is also available in setts. Choose a black granite-like appearance with Black Basalt, or the distinctive texture of Cinder grey wood-effect tiles. For a smooth, colour-block effect, look at the very popular dark grey Slab Coke.
The Design Potential of Dark Porcelain Paving
Dark porcelain paving opens new horizons for your garden design, creating a completely different feel from lighter colours. Dark grey and black outdoor tiles intensify the lushness of green leaves, and lay down a background against which the deep, rich colours of flowers 'pop' and architectural shapes stand out.
As a rule of thumb, dark colours tend to heat up quicker and radiate more heat than lighter ones. Consequently, you might find very dark colours less desirable around a swimming pool or hot tub, where you may be walking barefoot on hot paving. Conversely, you can try to take advantage of this by, for example, using darker paving for a winter patio that catches the sun, or in a sunken seating area where you want to enjoy cosy evenings after it's absorbed the heat of the day.
Grouting for dark grey and black outdoor tiles offers the opportunity for striking design detail. Use a colour to match your paving to create a more seamless look, or create a bold contrast with pale or white grout. Making the joints a feature in this way highlights the rectilinear shape of your paving and adds crisp lines that work well in modern design.
Make your garden feel bigger with dark patio slabs
Black and dark grey porcelain slabs can also be a good choice in smaller areas because dark colours recede, disguising the edges of the space and so making an area feel larger. With plenty of verdant planting to accompany them, these darker colours can add mystery and entice exploration.
Match your furniture with Anthracite porcelain paving
Anthracite grey is a particularly popular colour for garden furniture, pergolas and bi-fold doors, and choosing a similar tone will help blend features into a stream-lined, co-ordinated garden layout with a modern feel. Our Anthracite porcelain paving is supplied in 800x800 square slabs - a size that enhances contemporary design.

Choose dark grey for low-maintenance paving
Dark grey porcelain paving is also a good choice for high-traffic areas. First, the colour will disguise mud and dirt, so you won't need to clean so often. Secondly, porcelain is easy to clean, rarely needing more than a brush down or jet wash, thanks to porcelain's stain-resistance.

FAQs
Do You Offer an Installation Service for Your Range of Dark Porcelain Paving?
At present, we don't offer an installation service for our paving products. However, if you require a landscaper of garden designer, our Landscape Specialist Scheme may be of use.
Before committing to a landscaper, you should ensure that the person you choose is right for your garden project. It's worth asking your proposed tradesperson if you can view a portfolio of similar works - we also recommend getting several quotations before making a commitment.
