Larsen Flexible Standard Set+ is a cement-based outdoor tile adhesive, for use with porcelain and natural stone paving. It can receive full traffic after 24 hours. This standard fully flexible adhesive comes in two colours: grey and white. We recommend using grey for porcelain and most natural stone, while the white is best for light-coloured, porous natural stone such as Beige or Harvest sandstone. Pot time is a generous five hours at 20°C, and it can be applied at surface temperatures in a range of 5-30°C. A flexible adhesive is the perfect choice for rigid materials such as paving which are subject to fluctuations in temperature.

Installation

London Stone recommend that all our materials are installed by experienced professionals. The following is a summary of installation.

Install Preparation	All substrates must be suitably dry and comply with the recommendations in the British Standards and TTA Guidance documents. All substrates should be clean and thoroughly sound they should be free from standing water, oils, grease, dust, loose particles.
Equipment Required	Buckets, paddle mixer, water, sponges, notched trowel
Mixing	The adhesive should be added to clear water - approx. 4.5L water/20kg of adhesive - and mixed with a suitable forced action mixer or slow speed drill and paddle until a slump free mortar is produced. The mixed adhesive is usable for up to 5 hours depending on site temperature and conditions. Do not attempt to remix adhesive or add extra water after it has begun to stiffen as this will cause a loss in performance.
Application Process	The mixed adhesive should be applied to dry areas on walls using a suitable notched trowel and applied by solid bed on wet areas on walls, on all exterior tiling and on all floor tiling. It is recommended that trowelling is carried out in straight lines rather than ‘swirls’. In addition, when fitting very large format tiles, it is highly recommended to also fully skim the back of the tile with a thin layer of adhesive. Tiles should be placed with a firm twisting action before the adhesive has skinned over, i.e. within the open time. Regularly check to ensure adequate contact between adhesive, tile and substrate. ‘Dot and Dab’ method of fixing is never acceptable.
Cleaning Tools	Wash all tools frequently to avoid material bonding to them.
Cleaning During Application	Always keep a clean sponge and water available for wiping off any excess or spillages from paving.
