Product description

Crisp lines, a tight-grain and the rich pattern in Black Granite Paving deliver understated elegance to modern designs. Sawn on six sides and with a sandblasted and brushed, non-slip surface, these granite paving slabs are an extremely hard-wearing material. This granite has a very slight sparkle that enriches its very consistent charcoal-grey colouring. We recommend that all customers read our product & installation guides and view our colour variation boards before buying.

Our clients were keen for me to explore ideas to create a monotone contemporary scheme. The Black Granite paving combined with White rendered walls worked really well and certainly left our clients delighted with the final design and build. We used the Black Granite for the main terrace, stepping stones, wall copings, plank lawn edgings and steps.Read More

About Black Granite Paving

Overview

Granite is an igneous rock composed of interlocking crystals of feldspar, quartz, and mica. Extremely hard-wearing, durable, and resistant to weathering, it is a popular choice for driveways, high-traffic areas, or gardens with demanding environments.

Natural Characteristics

Black Granite will contain natural blemishes, veining, and small holes, all of which are characteristics of natural stone.

Receiving Your Delivery

Sawn stones can contain small chips to the corners and edges. This is an unavoidable result of the production, handling and transportation process and is not considered a defect. Most small chips are unnoticeable after the stone has been installed and pointed. On arrival, sawn stones can also display residual moisture and may need cleaning and drying before installation or pre-sealing.

Dimensional Tolerance

London Stone recommends ordering an additional 10% to allow for wastage, cuts, and the occasional piece which you may not like the look of. London Stone will not refund, or exchange stone based on variation in colour, texture, natural characteristics, or small chips.

Distribution of Slabs

It is advisable to sort through all crates on arrival so that colour variation can be distributed evenly throughout the paved area. At this point, any slabs with heavier chipping, colour variation or markings can be set aside to be used as cuts or wastage.

Stone looks very different when wet and dry. In its dry state, the color may seem more subdued, and the surface texture appears prominent, but once water is applied, the product’s colour becomes more vibrant, and hidden patterns are revealed.
